Oleta Fern Clinton

July 24, 1936 — February 13, 2014

Oleta Fern Clinton, daughter of the late Henry and Golda (McMurtrey) Amos, was born on July 24, 1936 in Mountain Grove, Missouri, and departed this life peacefully on February 13, 2014 in her home at the age of 77.
Oleta grew up around Mountain Grove and attended Willow Springs School, north of town.
In June of 1956, Oleta was united in marriage to Bobby Pamperien. Two children were born to this union. She worked many years on their family dairy farm before going to work at Brown Shoe Company, spending several years there until her retirement in 1993.
On April 22, 1989, she was united in marriage to Leon Clinton. Together they enjoyed traveling, woodworking, and spending time outdoors. Their Chihuahua, Tippy, was as much a part of the family as anyone. Although their time together was short, they both agreed it was the best years of their lives.
Oleta gave her life to the Lord and was baptized in 1960 while attending Pleasant Home Church in Drury, Missouri, where she was very active. In her later years, she attended First Baptist Church in Mountain Grove.
Oleta was a caregiver to anyone in need. She was described best by her children who all say she was the most wonderful Mother they could have ever hoped for.
Besides her parents, Oleta was preceded in death by her loving husband, Leon, who passed away in 1993; three brothers: Burl, Dean, and Wayne Amos; and one sister: Mae Massey.
Oleta is survived by one son: Randy Pamperien and his wife, Aleta, of Mountain Grove; one daughter: Tammie Davis and her husband, Kenneth, of Hartville, Missouri; one step-son: Rick Clinton and his wife, Debbie, of Willow Springs, Missouri; two step-daughters: Anita Stalder and her husband, Tim, of Bucyrus, Missouri, and Frieda Smith and her husband, Chuck, of Cabool, Missouri; three sisters: Ruth Barnett of Mountain Grove, Ruby Lyman of Independence, Missouri, and her twin sister and closest friend, Cleta June Carter, and her husband, Edwin, of Mountain Grove; fourteen grandchildren: Jolene, Ashley, Kayla, Tallie, Anthony, Courtney, Shannon, Landon, J.R., Casey, Mandy, Jeff, Belinda, and Mandi; twenty-five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; Emilee Pamperien, whom she always held in a special place in her heart; and a host of other relatives and friends who will dearly miss her.
