Opal Blanch Page, daughter of the late William Franklin and Lora Mae (Perkins) Melton, was born April 3, 1927 in Wappapello, Missouri, and passed away October 1, 2010 in Mtn. View, Missouri, following a long illness. She was 83 years of age.

At the age of 8, Opal’s family moved to the Willow Springs, Missouri area. Opal was united in marriage to Eddie Howard Page on June 9, 1951 in Willow Springs. Six children were born to this union. Mr. Page passed away on October 6, of 1976.

Opal enjoyed spending time outdoors especially when hunting and fishing. She also enjoyed gardening, reading, and crossword puzzles. Her most favorite time was spent with her children and grandchildren. She loved her family and was very proud of each and every one of them.

Besides her parents and husband, Opal was preceded in death by a daughter: Karen Wheeler; three grandchildren: Carmen McGuire, Sara Jo Page, and Robert Wheeler; and three brothers: Marvin, Kenneth, and Orville Melton.

She is survived by four sons: Ron Page and wife, Bonnie of Davenport, IA, Duane Page and wife, Pam of Granby, MO, Brad Page and wife, Glenda of Yuciapa, CA, and Sandy (Harold) Page and wife, Pam of Matthews, NC; one daughter: Marsha Shearrer and husband, Ralph of Casper, WY; twenty-four grandchildren: Cara Blair, Vicky Hayes, Adam McGuire, Genia Frazier, Stephanie Jones, Kathy, Robin, Eric, Kevin, Patrick, and Elaina Page, Greg, Robbie, and Scott Bennett, Michael and Joshua Page, Samuel and Kathleen Page, Dawn, Terry, Tracey, and Dena Shearrer, and Jennifer and Chaz Dwyer; many great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.


Graveside Services:

Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at 2:30 PM in the Brushy Knob Cemetery.

Visitation:

Wednesday, October 6, 2010 from 1:00 - 2:00 PM in the Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home Chapel.
