Opal Efen (Gray) Williams

January 15, 1924 — July 14, 2013

Opal Efen Williams, daughter of the late Mose and Edna (Claxton) Gray, was born on January 15, 1924 on the family farm in Wright County, Missouri, and departed this life on Sunday, July 14, 2013 in the Rocky Ridge Manor in Mansfield, Missouri. She was 89 years of age.
Opal grew up and attended school in the Macomb, Missouri area.
Opal was united in marriage to Frank Williams on November 10, 1942. Seven children were born to this union. Mr. Williams passed away on November 20, 1986.
Following their marriage, they made their home south of Macomb, where they raised their family and worked very hard farming.
Opal also worked many years at Tobin-Hamilton Shoe Factory in Mansfield.
She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and attended church as long as her health permitted.
Opal loved being outdoors, especially when gardening, doing yard work and tending to her flowers.
She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and neighbor.
Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one son: Warren Lee Williams; one daughter: Deloris Koster; a grandson: David Koster; a great-granddaughter: Mikaela Lansdown; three sons-in-law: Ronnie Allen, Fuzzy Koster and Jerry Floyd; and by five brothers: Luther, Howard, Roy, Ernie, and Cecil Gray.
Opal is survived by two sons: Harlin Williams and his wife, Evelyn, of Norwood, Missouri, and Jerry Williams and his wife, Carolyn, of Macomb, Missouri; three daughters: Donna Williams of Mansfield, Missouri, Doris Floyd of Marshfield, Missouri, and Karen Allen of Sparta, Missouri; Fourteen grandchildren: Kenny Williams, Jeff Williams, Rodney O’Dell, Treva Tompkins, Rhonda O’Dell, Lora Harris, Kelly Koster, Becky Tunnell, Brian Williams, Julie Kilgore, Tracy Lansdown, James Koster, and Daren Allen; twenty great-grandchildren: Cassidy, Wyatt, Weston, Nathan, Eric, Carlin, Kirstin, Mariah, Kelsey, Jeremy, Emily, Luke, Trevor, Elly, Barrett, Weston, Kylie, Ashlyn, Carson, and Derek; one sister: Imogene Henson of Kansas City, Missouri; numerous nieces and nephews; and other relatives and dear friends.
We celebrate Opal’s life and honor her accomplishments and we will treasure the memories she created for her family and friends. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed and will forever live in our hearts.

in the funeral home.

at 10:00 AM in the
Craig-Hurtt Chapel.
