Orleana L Walker

Orleana Luva Walker, daughter of the late Orville and Etta (Bartholow) Hoffarth, was born November 6, 1921 in Texas County, Missouri, and departed this life April 7, 2016 in Mountain Grove, Missouri. She was 94 years, 5 months, and 1 day of age.
Orleana grew up in the Mountain Grove area and was a graduate of the Mountain Grove High School class of 1940. She was united in marriage to Howard Earl Walker on June 15, 1940 in Hartville, Missouri. Two children were born to this union.
Orleana worked for both, Brown Shoe Company and Tobin-Hamilton Shoe Company. She was a loving mother who enjoyed taking care of her family. She was very devoted to making sure all their needs were met. Orleana enjoyed gardening, cooking, and painting. She especially liked painting ceramics and birdhouses. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with family and friends. She and her sister, Delores, would often be seen visiting as they walked the streets of Mountain Grove.
Orleana was saved and baptized at a young age. She was a charter member of the First Baptist Church of Mountain Grove where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was the oldest member at the time of her passing. She had a deep love for the Lord and serving Him. Orleana will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Besides her parents, Orleana was preceded in death by her husand: Howard Walker; four brothers: Earl, Curtis, Winford, and James Hoffarth; and one sister: Delores Rook.
Orleana is survived by one son: Leo Walker of Mountain Grove; one daughter: Judy McCleary of Mountain Grove; eight grandchildren: Mike McCleary, Donavon McCleary, Troy McCleary, Kevin Livingston, Melody Berryman, Brandon Livingston, Jeff Walker, and Alesha Moore; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and a host other relatives and friends.


Visitation: Tuesday, April 12, 2016 from 1:00 - 2:00 PM in the Chapel.

Funeral Service: Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel.

Burial: Hillcrest Cemetery
