Orrilla Darcus Skaggs

January 23, 1924 — December 28, 2014

Orrilla Darcus (McCall) Skaggs, daughter of the late Marion and Hattie (Volner) (Curtner) McCall, was born on January 23, 1924 in Texas County, Missouri and departed this life on December 28, 2014 at her home in Cabool, Missouri. She was 90 years, 11 months, and 5 days of age.

Orrilla was born and raised in a Christian home in the Bendavis, Missouri area. She came from a large family of many brothers and sisters. She attended Murr Church as a child where, in her later years, she accepted the Lord into her life.

She was united in marriage to Noah Oscar Skaggs on October 5, 1940. They had 59 wonderful years together. One daughter was born to this union: Vanita.

Orrilla was raised on a farm and spent her married life on a farm with her husband. They milked for many years, and then decided to sell the milk cows and raise beef cattle. They enjoyed the farm life until Noah got hurt and couldnt take care of the cattle anymore. They then sold the cattle and moved to Cabool, Missouri.

Orrilla joined the Fowler Pentecostal Church on May 3, 1970, and was the church secretary for many years. Orrilla was a great mother to Vanita, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved them very much, but the love for her Lord was greater still.
Noah went to be with the Lord in 1999. Orrilla is also preceded in death by her parents: Marion and Hattie McCall.

She is survived by one daughter: Vanita Arthur and her husband, Ivan, of Cabool, Missouri; one grandson: Aaron Arthur; two great-grandchildren: Noah Arthur and Rachel Arthur; two step-grandchildren: Jeffery Arthur and Tia Boyeson; seven step-great-grandchildren: Drew Boyle, Tyler Edwards, Monte Arthur, Kendra Arthur, Kladen Arthur, Virginia McHendry, Kevin Leedy; and other family and friends.
