Pat Cooley - Goodman

Pat Cooley Goodman, daughter of the late Lawrence Edward and Edith (Edwards) Hutsell, was born June 7, 1945 in Mountain Grove and departed this life on July 4, 2009 in Springfield, Missouri following a long illness. She was 64 years and 25 days of age.

Pat grew up in Mountain Grove and graduated from Mountain Grove High School in 1963. She married Landon Cooley on February 24, 1967 in Ottawa County, Oklahoma. Three sons were born to this union.

Pat traveled with Landon throughout Oklahoma and Arkansas, helping him while he worked in construction. She later worked for the Brown Shoe Company in Mountain Grove until its closing. Pat enjoyed playing Yatzee, reading, gardening, and farming.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and by one brother, Lawrence Layton Hutsell.

Pat is survived by three sons: Michael Cooley of Springfield, Missouri, Marcus Cooley and his wife, Taunya, and Aaron Cooley, all of Mountain Grove; three brothers: Paul Hutsell of Laquey, Missouri, Melvin Hutsell of Abeline, Texas, and Sherman Hutsell of Lebanon, Missouri; two sisters: Shirley Cook of Hutchison, Kansas, and Linda Terry of Lebanon, Missouri; two step-brothers: Amon Helsley of Mansfield, Missouri and Raymond Helsley of Ozark, Missouri; two step-sisters: Nancy Black of Marshfield, Missouri and Beverly Sue Maggard of Fordland, Missouri; nine grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of relatives and friends who will dearly miss her.

Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at 3:00 PM in the Craig-Hurtt Chapel.
Visitation:
Tuesday, July 7th from 6:00 - 7:00 PM in the Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home.

Hillcrest Cemetery
