Ralph James Rogers

Ralph James Rogers, son of late Henry Claude and Sarilda Agnes (Baty) Rogers, was born on October 4, 1945 in Prior, Missouri and passed away on Monday, April 28, 2008 at his home near Manes, Missouri following a short illness with lung cancer, at 62 years of age.
When Ralph was very young, the family moved back to their farm south of Manes, originally owned by Claude’s parents, Joe and Suzan (Coggins) Rogers. On this land is where Claude built a new rock home for the family.
Ralph attended elementary school in Manes and graduated from Mtn. Grove High School 1963. He was united in marriage to Charlotte Jane Todd, daughter of Furl and Dorothy Todd on September 12, 1968 in Kansas City, Missouri. They made their home in the Kansas City area where three daughters were born to this union. In 1976, they moved their family back to Manes, Missouri. During this time, Ralph continued to work in Kansas City and Florida until he was injured in 1986. They started a dairy farm in 1989 and farmed for ten years.
Ralph was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed woodworking. He was a member of the Carpenter’s Union in Lebanon, Missouri and supervised various construction projects in the Kansas City area.
He professed his faith in Christ and attended the Evening Shade Community Church north of Manes.
Ralph was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, friend and neighbor. He enjoyed spending time with his family and will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister: Barbara Ann Baty; and by one brother: Joe Rogers.
He is survived by his loving wife of almost forty-years; Jane Rogers of their home; three daughters: Stephanie Mosley and her husband, Kyle, of Nevada, Missouri, Jeannea Perkins and her husband, Jim, and Becky Dowden and her husband, Leo, all of Manes, Missouri; two brothers: Donald Rogers and Lonnie Rogers and his wife, Bonnie, all of Manes, Missouri; one sister: Juanita Willhite of Manes, Missouri; eight grandchildren: Victoria, Jessica, Trenton, Katie, Kylea, Elijah, John and Abel; nieces; nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside services for Ralph Rogers will be held Wednesday, April 30, 2008, at 10:00 AM in the Green Mountain Cemetery with Rev. Gary Hurley officiating. Song selections will be “Arms Of An Angel” and “The Sun’s Coming Up In The Morning.” Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Wade, Frances Kirk, Kirby Kelly, David Baty, Eric Skaggs, and Clay Towell. Burial was in the Green Mountain Cemetery under the direction of the Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home, Mtn. Grove, Missouri. There will be a visitation with the family following the graveside service in the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Community Hospice or the Green Mountain Cemetery Fund c/o the funeral home.

Visitation:
Wednesday,April 30, following the service in the cemetery.
