Raymond Albert Frey

September 6, 1927 — August 15, 2009

Raymond Albert Frey, son of the late Albert Raymond and Gladys Pearl (Maxwell) Frey, was born on September 6, 1927 in Huggins, Missouri and departed this life on August 15, 2009 at his residence in Huggins, Missouri following a long illness. He was 81 years, 11 months, and 9 days of age.
Raymond grew up and attended school in the Huggins area and at the age of seventeen he was drafted into the United States Army. He served his country for two years during World War II. He was united in marriage to Edith Brown on September 14, 1951 in Hardy, Arkansas. Two daughters were born to this union.
Raymond later joined the United States Air Force and retired after twenty years of service. He enjoyed being outdoors, especially when hunting and fishing. He also liked to read and wood working projects.
Raymond was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. He loved his family very much and enjoyed spending time with them.
At the time of his passing, Raymond was attending the Hopewell Freewill Baptist Church. He was a longtime member of the American Legion and the National Rifle Association.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother: Paul Frey; and by one sister: Lavetta Frey.
He is survived by his wife: Edith Frey of their home; his daughters: Deborah Frey and Desma Hutsell, both of Huggins, Missouri; two brothers: Ronnie Frey of Houston, Missouri and Lonnie Frey of Shemya Island in the North Pacific; four sisters: Betty Jane Rice of Plato, Missouri, Lucille Frey of Urbana, Missouri, Shirley Bridges of Rolla, Missouri and Jeannie Huff of Success, Missouri; one granddaughter: Autumn Rose Sheppard; one great-granddaughter: Lailie Sheppard; and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss him very much.

Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at 2:00 PM in the Craig-Hurtt Chapel.
