Rene D. Dupre, son of the late Delphis and Claudia (Barselou) Dupre, was born October 26, 1929 in Fall River, Massachusetts. He departed this life on May 26, 2016 in Springfield, Missouri. He was 86 years and 7 months of age.
Rene grew up and attended school in Fall River, Massachusetts. He was united in marriage to the late Anna Reynolds. Two children were born to this union.
Rene was in law enforcement and served as a police officer from 1960 to 1980 and became the Chief of Police in Westport, Massachusetts in 1980. He served in that capacity until retiring in 1984.
On July 1, 1999, Rene was united in marriage to Madeline (Pacheco) Marier in Port Richey, Florida. They visited Mountain Grove, Missouri and, in 2005, moved to the area. Rene loved sports and enjoyed playing handball in his earlier years of life. He also enjoyed watching television and playing pool at the senior center every day. Rene attended the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The church and his church family were very dear to him. He was a Grand Knight with the Knights of Columbus Joseph Boehr Council #4753 in Tiverton, Rhode Island.
Rene is survived by his wife: Madeline Dupre of Mountain Grove; two daughters: Patrice Capuano and her husband, Robert, of Berkley, Massachusetts and Susan Dupre of Fall River, Massachusetts; two step-sons: Christopher Marier of Mountain Grove and Robert Marier and his wife, Janet, of Port Richey, Florida; three grandchildren: Cassandra Bettencourt, Roderick Bettencourt, and Jason Capuano; five step-grandchildren: Chris Marier, Eric Marier, Ryan Marier, Robert Marier, Jr. and Adam Marier; four great-grandchildren; Four step Great Grandchildren; one sister: Cecile Monteiro of Fall River, Massachusetts; A special friend from the Senior Center, Gerald Hilt; and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss him greatly.


Memorial Mass: Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at 10:00 AM in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Mountain Grove, Missouri.

Burial At Later Date: Assonet, Massachusetts.

Memorial Contributions: Donor's charity of choice.
