Rev. Paul Nathaniel Smith

Rev. Paul Nathaniel Smith, son of the late Joe and Lucille (Nolting) Smith, was born on April 29, 1924 in Kansas City, Missouri and departed this life on February 12, 2010 at his residence in Mtn. Grove, Missouri. He was 85 years, 9 months and 13 days of age.
Paul was raised in the Kansas City area and moved to Topeka, Kansas where he graduated from high school in 1941. He attended Grace and Glory Bible College in 1943 and 1944 and pastored a church in Belen, New Mexico from 1945 to 1947. He moved back to the Kansas City area and operated the Grace and Glory Print Shop. In 1959 Paul pastored the Christian Assembly Tabernacle in Kansas City as well as presiding over Grace and Glory Bible College and editing the Grace and Glory Magazine. He moved to Mtn. Grove in 1980.
Paul was united in marriage to Ruth Ellen Riddle on November 30, 1954 in Kansas City, Missouri, where they raised three children.
While here in Mtn. Grove, he operated the Grace and Glory campus and enjoyed his work tremendously. He never met a stranger and was known as a kind and compassionate friend and neighbor. He will be truly missed by his family, friends, and neighbors. He spent over fifty years preaching, teaching, and writing about the things he loved.
While living in Mtn. Grove, he was a member of the Mtn. Grove Chamber, Wright County Crisis Center Board, Ministerial Alliance, and a City Alderman.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Ruth Smith on October 30, 2003; two brothers: Stephen and Daleand: two sisters: Mildred and Marjorie.
He is survived by his son: Timothy Smith and his wife, Laura, of Mtn. Grove; two daughters: Mary Reed and her husband, Ron, of Topeka, Kansas, and Paulette Albrecht and her husband, Dave, of Grand Rapids, Michigan; thirteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.


Funeral Service:
Saturday, February 20th, 1:00 PM in the Craig-Hurtt Chapel.
Visitation:
Saturday, February 20th, 12:00 to 1:00 before the service

Hillcrest Cemetery
