Rhoda Bell (Deaton) Dake

June 23, 1917 — March 25, 2010

Rhoda Bell Dake, daughter of the late Emery P. and Lillie Bell (Nicholson) Deaton, was born on June 23, 1917 in Mtn. Grove, Missouri, and departed this life on March 25, 2010 in the Autumn Oaks Caring Center in Mtn. Grove, at 92 years of age.
Rhoda grew up and attended school in Wright County and was united in marriage to Herman A. Dake on June 25, 1938 in Mtn. Grove. Two children were born to this union, Beverly Jo and Richard Duane. They raised their family on a dairy farm near Mtn. Grove where they made their home for many years. Herman passed away on February 3, 1988. Rhoda was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be truly missed by those who knew and loved her.
She loved to play music with her friends and family and was well known for playing the spoons. For several years she played with the group; Surely, Goodness and Mercy at Silver Dollar City, where she made many friends.
Rhoda was a longtime member of the Church of the Nazarene in Mtn. Grove.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son: Richard “Rick” Dake; one brother: Richard Deaton; and by two sisters: Ruby Dake and Clementine Peck.
She is survived by her daughter: Beverly Jo Jones and her husband, Eric, of Mtn. Grove; two brothers: Howard Deaton and his wife, Peggy, and Virl Deaton and his wife, Alice, all of Mtn. Grove; eight grandchildren: Teresa Whorton of Kirbyville, Missouri, Tony Shelton of Puerto Rico, Justin Dake of Mtn. Grove, Jennifer Shelton of Cabool, Missouri, Jeremy Grisham of Nixa, Missouri, Eric Jones of Ozark, Missouri, Mike Jones of Cabool, Missouri and Erica Jones of St. Francis, Minnesota; sixteen great-grandchildren; several nieces; nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services:
Monday, March 29th, 10:00 AM in the Craig-Hurtt Chapel.
Sunday, March 28th, 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM in the funeral home.
