Richard Frederick Lange, Jr.

Richard Frederick Lange, Jr., son of the late Richard Frederick Lange, Sr., and Caroline Lee (Ricketts) Lange, was born November 12, 1958, in Baltimore, Maryland, and passed away March 5, 2021, at his home in Mountain Grove, Missouri. He was 62 years, 3 months, and 23 days of age.

Richard grew up in Baltimore and graduated from Overlea High School in 1976. He served in the United States Coast Guard as a helicopter mechanic for six years. Richard married Lauren Suzanne Wood on May 31, 1985, in Baltimore. Seven children were born to this union.

Richard worked in residential carpentry and construction. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, boating, and sailing. He was also creative musically. He wrote songs, played the piano, and loved singing. He also loved working with his hands, writing, and inventing.

Besides his parents, Richard was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Amanda Lange, one brother, David Lange, and one grandchild, Justin Rogers.

He is survived by his wife of thirty-five years, Lauren Lange, three sons, Richard Lange of Pittsburg, Texas, Jonathan Lange and his wife, Delaney, of Fulton, Missouri, and James Lange of Springfield, Missouri, four daughters, Nicole Rogers and her husband, Philip, of Springfield, Missouri, Bethany Rogers and her husband, David, of Winfield, Texas, Megan Johnson and her husband, Matthias, of Blanchard, Louisiana, and Amanda Lange of Mountain Grove, Missouri, nine grandchildren, Micah, Jude, Kelden, Brielle, Adelia, Noelle, Ariana, Bethany, William, and one on the way, and other relatives and friends. Richard fought a valiant fight with cancer and will be dearly missed.
