Rick attended the Norwood School and was a graduate in 1975. He grew up in the family business, Forrest Meat Processing, and worked hard for his parents and deeply loved being by his parents’ side. Rick married his sweetheart, June, in June of 1977. They were blessed with a wonderful marriage for over 35 years. Three children were born to this union. Rick and his wife June purchased the family business in 1990. Rick was thankful to be able to continue in the family business with his wife and children by his side.
Rick was involved with many organizations and charities over the years. He currently was an active member of the Wright County IDA Board and served on the properties committee for the Wright Douglas Ozark Baptist Assoc. Rick was saved at an early age and submitted his life fully to the Lord’s work in 2005. He was a member of Ashley Cowboy Church where he served as the Associate Pastor. Rick had many accomplishments. He was inducted into the Missouri Meat Processors Hall of Fame. He also was the winner of the North American Sharpest Knife Award.
Rick enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, shooting bows, shooting guns, reloading shells, boating, riding horses, trapping and teaching his kids and grandkids about wildlife and survival. He enjoyed a lot of things but his greatest joy was serving the Lord and loving and spending time with his family.
Rick was preceded in death by his father: Ivan “Buck“ Forrest; one child: Richard Ivan Forrest; and one grandchild.
