Robert 'Bob' Eugene Sinning

January 9, 1929 — July 12, 2011

Robert “Bob” Eugene Sinning, son of the late Gustav William and Della Cynthia (McCaskey) Sinning, was born on January 9, 1929 in Guymon, Oklahoma, and passed away on July 12, 2011 in the Rocky Ridge Manor in Mansfield, Missouri. He was 82 years, 6 months and 3 days of age.
Bob came to Missouri at an early age. His parents homesteaded so the family moved between Oklahoma and Missouri for several years in the early 1930’s because of the Dust Bowl. Bob started school in Guymon, Oklahoma and later in Missouri attended the Stoney Point School near Mtn. Grove.
In December of 1944, at the age of fifteen, Bob was involved in a hunting accident and lost his arm. This never seemed to slow him down and he was very active throughout his life.
He was united in marriage to Juanita Bradshaw on April 16, 1949 in Mtn. Home, Arkansas. Four boys were born to this union: Lonnie, Danny, Gary and Jeff.
They made their home in several locations in the Whetstone Community near Mtn. Grove and the older boys attended Mtn. Grove School. In 1963, they moved the family to their farm on C Highway near Norwood, where their youngest son, Jeff, was born in 1967. Bob enjoyed farming, buying and selling cattle, and hunting. He also enjoyed collecting old coins, playing cards, going to yard sales and fishing whenever possible.
Bob was employed for five years at the Brown Shoe Company in Mtn. Grove and later worked for area sale barns in Mtn. Grove and Mansfield.
He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, friend and neighbor. He will be truly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Bob was saved and baptized when his sons were young. He was a member of the old Whetstone Baptist Church and in recent years he enjoyed attending the Assembly of God Church in Norwood and visiting with his neighbors and friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers: (infant) Albert Sinning, Elmer Louis Sinning, Earl William Sinning, Elvin Dean Sinning, and Francis Alva Sinning; and by three sisters: Ella Lee Landess, Edith Pear Hinds, and Eunice Mae Webber.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of sixty-two years: Juanita Sinning of their home; his sons: Lonnie Sinning and his wife, Diana, of Norwood, Missouri, Danny Sinning and his wife, Rita, of Norwood, Missouri, Gary Sinning and his wife, Karen, of Graff, Missouri, and Jeff Sinning and his wife, Stephanie, of Norwood, Missouri; three brothers: Floyd Roy Sinning of Guymon, Oklahoma, James Daniel Sinning of Mtn. Grove, Missouri, and Ernest Loring “Joe” Sinning of Van Wert, Ohio; three sisters: Beatrice Jean Schmitt of the State of Alabama, Darlene Nelda Ditto of the State of Indiana, and Charlene Joyce Spoor of Van Wert, Ohio; nine grandchildren and their spouses: Chris and Amber Sinning, Heather and John Lumb, Tanya and Dustin Calhoun, Lori and Kevin Drake, Brad and Dinah Sinning, Justin and Sarah Sinning, Rileigh Sinning, Augustus Sinning, and Cole Sinning; fourteen great-grandchildren: Trista, Holly, Emily, Dylan, Mayci, Addy, Avery, Payton, Jalen, Jacob, Kinley, Brady, Sophia, and Jack; several nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.
