Roger Dale Harp

Roger Dale Harp, son of Birdell Harp and Mary (Perryman) Harp was born on March 3, 1957 in St. Louis, Missouri and passed away on May 25, 2009 in the St. John’s Regional Health Center in Springfield, Missouri at 52 years of age.
Roger grew up and attended school in Mill Creek, Missouri. He was united in marriage to Marsha in 1975. They were happily married for a few years and remained lifelong friends.
Roger took great pride in serving his country in the United States Army from August 27, 1975 to March 27, 1978 when he was honorably discharged as a Private First Class. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing. He liked watching all kinds of sports and was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan since childhood.
Roger was a loving son, brother, uncle, grandson, and friend. He will be truly missed by those who knew and loved him. One of his favorite pastimes was spending time with his family for get-togethers at Christmas and the big family cook-out on the fourth of July each year. Before he entered the hospital, he was looking forward to a family cook-out for the Memorial Day weekend so he could see all his family, especially his nieces and nephews.
He loved to travel and had lived in various places across the United States.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Walter and Pearl Harp; and by his maternal grandfather: Frank Perryman.
He is survived by his mother: Mary Harp of Norwood, Missouri; His father and step-mother: Birdell and Diane Harp of Guntown, Mississippi; three brothers: Richard Harp of Merced, California, Randy Harp and his wife, Julie, of Hartville, Missouri, and Alan Harp and his wife, Karen, of Norwood, Missouri; three sisters: Regina Hopper and her husband, Terry, of Norwood, Missouri, Annette Bruffett and her husband, Tim, of Norwood, Missouri, and Samantha Harp of Guntown, Mississippi; (all his “kids”) – his thirteen nieces & nephews: Heather, Heidi, Coby, April, Cari, Jessica, Logan, Emily, Evan, Alexis, Timmy, Gabrielle, and Laley; his maternal grandmother: Edith Perryman of Mauldin, Missouri; numerous aunts; uncles; cousins; and a host of other relatives and friends.
