Roland D. Bartley

Roland D. Bartley, son of the late Marion Elmer and Stella Gertrude (Owens) Bartley, was born June 29, 1929, in Wright County, Missouri, and passed away May 15, 2019, at Mercy in Springfield, Missouri. He was 89 years, 10 months, and 16 days of age.

Roland was raised in Wright County and graduated from Mansfield High School in 1947. He married Darlene Simons on December 20, 1951, in Norwood, Missouri. One son, Ronnie, was born to this union.

Roland ran a service station in Macomb, Missouri, from 1953 to 1959. He worked in service station maintenance from 1959 to 1968. In 1969, he became a rural mail carrier for the Macomb, Hartville, and Grovespring areas and delivered the mail for over twenty years. He and Darlene owned and operated the Farmers Insurance office for many years while also running a beef cattle operation. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, sightseeing, and spending time with his dogs, but he especially enjoyed farming.

Roland was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Darlene.

He is survived by one son, Ronnie Bartley and his wife, Donna, of Carthage, Missouri, and by special friends, Larry and Lisa Pierson.
