Rosa Rita Carder

November 11, 1924 — July 3, 2007

Rosa Rita Carder, daughter of the late Elmer and Nola (Armentrout) Schuelke, was born on November 11, 1924 in Denver, Colorado, and passed away on July 3, 2007 in the Primrose Place Healthcare Center in Springfield, Missouri, following a long illness. She was 82 years, 7 months, and 22 days of age.
Rosa spent her younger years in Colorado and later moved to Missouri where she graduated from Mtn. Grove High School in Mtn. Grove. She was united in marriage to Farris Carder on August 25, 1948 in Mtn. Home, Arkansas. Two daughters were born to this union. They made their home in the Mtn. Grove area for many years and had moved to Springfield, Missouri four years ago.
Rosa was employed by Brown Shoe Company in Mtn. Grove and retired following 32 years of service.
She was a member of the Crossroads of Faith Church north of Mtn. Grove and enjoyed attending as long as her health permitted.
She enjoyed sewing, quilting, and cooking in her spare time. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She had a great sense of humor and will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband: Farris Carder of Springfield, Missouri; two daughters: Vickie Adams of Springfield, Missouri, and Nola McIntosh of Norwood, Missouri; three brothers: Wesley Schuelke of the State of California, Jimmy Schuelke of Hartville, Missouri, and Kenneth Achiles of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Rosa Carder were held Thursday, July 5, 10:00 AM in the Craig-Hurtt Chapel with Rev. Junior Hutsell officiating. Song selections were “Go Tell It On The Mountain,” “Shall We Gather At The River/Will The Circle Be Unbroken,” and The Old Rugged Cross. Pallbearers were Jeff Craig, Gary Carder, Dustin Lathrom, Kenneth Carder, Rickie Carder, and Ulas Volner. Burial was in the Green Mountain Cemetery under the direction of the Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home, Mtn. Grove, Missouri. www.craighurttfuneralhome.com
