Ruben Gonzales, son of the late Gilbert Gonzales, Sr., and Guadalupe “Lupe” (Vasquez) Gonzales, was born on August 14, 1965 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and passed away on December 26, 2010 at his home in Mtn. Grove, Missouri, at 45 years of age.
Ruben grew up and attended school in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Dallas, Texas. While living in Texas, he enjoyed working as a security guard. He moved to the Mtn. Grove area in 1989.
Ruben loved his family very much and enjoyed spending time with them, especially his children and grandchildren. He liked attending his children’s sporting and pageant events at Mtn. Grove schools.
After moving to Mtn. Grove he played softball for several years. Ruben would often comment that some of his best times he had was playing softball with his buddies.
He liked listening to loud music and watching wrestling on T.V. with his fiancé Rose and his two youngest sons. He also liked watching football on Sundays with his four sons. He was known as a true and avid Dallas Cowboy’s fan.
Ruben never met a stranger. He loved being around people and was always making friends wherever he went. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed making those around him laugh and smile, which he never had a problem doing.
Ruben was a very religious man at heart and he loved to pray and talk to God.
Besides his father, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Roel Gonzales and Rene Gonzales.
He is survived by his fiancé of sixteen years: Rose Woods, of the home; his mother: Lupe Gonzales, of Mtn. Grove; one brother: Gilbert Gonzales, Jr., of Racine, Wisconsin; his six children: Michael Gonzales and wife, Bridget, of Mtn. Grove, Richard Gonzales of Mtn. Grove, Ashley Stephens of the State of Arkansas, Melanie Woods of Mtn. Grove, and Justin and William “Tyler” Gonzales of the home; four grandchildren: Mia, Kayden, Aceton and Kylie, all of Mtn. Grove; his nine nieces and nephews: Tanya Pochcco, Margaret Gonzales, Stephanie Gonzales, Toni Jensen, Angela Gonzales, Amanda Gonzales, Ryan Gonzales, Dustin Gonzales and Matty Gonzales; and numerous relatives and friends who will miss him very much.
Funeral Service:
Friday, December 31, at 2:00 PM in the Craig-Hurtt Chapel.
Visitation:
Thursday, December 30th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the funeral home.

Oak Forest Cemetery
