Ruth Crisp

November 22, 1932 — June 8, 2021

Ruth Berniece (Mings) Crisp, daughter of Dan Mings and Pearl (Lathrom) Mings was born on November 22, 1932, in Rayborn, Missouri, and left this world when God called her home on June 8, 2021. She was 88 years, 6 months, and 17 days of age.

Ruth married Darrell “Buddy” Crisp in April of 1956, and three children were born of their union, Doris Ann, Anna Darlene, and Donnie Allen.

Ruth worked for Brown Shoe Company for 22 years, also Fordick Corporation for many years, along with a few various jobs before she retired. She was always a hard worker and strived to give her children the best she could.

Ruth’s passion was sewing. Every time you walked in her house, she had a new project she had started to show you. She loved to make kitchen towels and aprons, and shared them with several others. She also loved to can tomatoes. That was her specialty, canned tomatoes. That was our “go to”. If you were sick, a jar of mom’s tomatoes could fix just about anything.

She loved her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids and always looked forward to visits or just a phone call. She enjoyed going out to eat and her favorite restaurant was in her words, “Up on the Hill”. When she was younger, she loved square dancing, music parties, and family get-togethers.

She had no trouble making friends as she loved to talk and visit and never met a stranger. She had many friends she had met along life’s way and a dear friend, Linda Allen.

She attended Crossroads of Faith Church as long as her health allowed it. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and knew she would make Heaven her home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, the father of her children, Darrell “Buddy” Crisp, and her sister, Shirley Delcour.

She is survived by her two daughters, Doris Nettleton and her husband, Ralph, and Darlene Harker, and her husband, Lyndell, son, Donnie Crisp, and his wife, Christi, sister, Linda Strunk and husband, Andy, and brother, Troy Mings, all of Mountain Grove, six grandchildren, Shannon McGowan, Shane Nettleton and wife, Tyann, Acelyn Harker, Alyson Johnston and her husband, Tony, Andon Crisp and his wife, Junee, and Avery Crisp, eight great-grandchildren, Darren Proctor, Sadie Proctor, Ashley McGowan, Asher Crisp, Caseten Nettleton, Atlee Nettleton, Treven Nettleton, and Treysen Nettleton, and many friends and relatives that deeply loved her and will miss her.
