Scheryl L. (Olson) Turkleson

May 15, 1953 — June 5, 2014

Scheryl Turkleson, 61, formerly of Sioux City, Iowa, passed away on June 5, 2014 at her home in Mountain Grove, MO after a lengthy illness.
Scheryl was born in Sioux City, Iowa to Daniel K. & Geneva (Simons) Olson on May 15, 1953. She was raised in Sioux City and graduated from East High School in 1972. On December 23, 1971 she married the love of her life Rick Turkleson of Salix, Iowa.
The family made their home in Salix initially until 1982 when they moved to Medford, Oregon, and later on to California and onward to their home of 15 years in Mountain Grove.
Scheryl was known for her adventurous nature and great sense of humor. Nothing was more important to her than her family and friends. She was creative and loved to write stories that family members will cherish forever. She was artistic and has painted many children murals for family and friends. She had a special place in her heart for animals and shared her passion with her friends.
Scheryl is survived by her husband: Rick Turkleson; her daughter: Christi Turkleson: son Eric Turkleson; sisters: Donna (Robert) Stowe and Kathy (Tim) Skidmore; three nieces: Pam Vickers, Laurie Jones and Amanda Franklin; three nephews: Robert Rob Stowe, Shane Jones and Tim Skidmore.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Daniel K. and Geneva Olson; and by her brother: Robert Jones.
Scheryl always considered Sioux City her home and will be placed to rest with a private family gathering. A Life Celebration will be held July 4th, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. at the Salix Fire Hall for all friends and family.
