Sharon Kay Renfrow, daughter of the late Fred and Jeretta (Lucas) Moore, was born on December 29, 1943, in Owens, Missouri. She departed this life on August 5, 2022, at her home at the age of 79 years, 7 months, and 8 days.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl “Van” Renfrow; four brothers, Vernon, Herbert, Shelby, and Shirley; and four sisters, Irene Wood, Oleta Renfro, Della Dugger and Freeda Dugger.

Sharon is survived by her sister, Helen Dixon and her husband, Wayne of Hartville, Missouri; her daughters, Carla Bates and her husband, James of Huggins, Missouri, and Sherry Dugger and her husband, Garry of Hartville, Missouri; five grandchildren, Stephanie Amos and her husband, Josh, Ryan Bates, Erin Malley and her husband, Dylan, Dustin Kelley, Vanna Kelley and her significant other, Chris Dugger; nine great-grandchildren, Hannah Curtis, Isaac Amos, Grace Kelley, Gavin Zeolia, Jordan Dugger, Levi Dugger, Jase Kelley, Blake Kelley and Brandy Kelley; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Sharon had accepted Christ early in life and was a long time member of Rock Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. She went to grade school at Owens School House and went on to graduate at Mountain Grove High School. On July 14, 1961, Sharon Moore was united in marriage to Carl “Van” Renfrow and to this union two daughters were born, Carla and Sherry. She worked outside of the home as a cashier at Richards Brothers Dry Goods and Wal-Mart, then as a seamstress at HD Lee. She retired from work as a home health secretary for Texas County Memorial Hospital. She and Van also raised dogs on the side.

Sharon loved music and singing. She taught herself to play the guitar and piano without reading music. She played the piano for Rock Chapel Freewill Baptist Church for many years. She loved to sew and make dresses for the granddaughters and even made a few quilts. No one ever went hungry at Sharon’s kitchen table, for she was sure to always fix a good meal. Her laughter was contagious.

Sharon was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
