Shilah Ann Morris

Shilah Ann Morris, daughter of the late Boyd and Wilma (Exline) Robertson, was born on April 24, 1937 in Ava, Missouri and departed this life on Tuesday, September 9, 2008, in the Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, Missouri, after a long illnes. She was 71 years, 4 months, and 15 days of age.
Shilah graduated from high school in Carthage, Missouri, and was united in marriage to Fred “Sonny” Morris Jr., on August 6, 1962 in Miami, Oklahoma. They made their home and raised their children in the Mtn. Grove area for several years where she was employed by Doris’ Dress Shop. She also owned and operated a western store in Mtn. Grove for seven years.
Shilah enjoyed being outdoors, especially when gardening and spending time in the pool. She loved going to the beach and vacationing in Cancun, Mexico.
She was a loving and caring wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend and neighbor. True joy for her was to spend quality time with her family. She will be extremely missed by her loving family and her devoted friends.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson: Casey Morris on August 14, 2006.
She is survived by her husband of forty-six years: Sonny Morris of their home; two daughters: Cherrie Packard of Mtn. Grove and Jennifer Staudt of Lebanon, Missouri; two sons: Tony Morris of Springfield, Missouri and Mark Morris of Mtn. Grove; two brothers: Mike Robertson of Ozark, Missouri and Pat Robertson of Neosho, Missouri; eleven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Shilah Morris were held Saturday, September 13, 2008, 10:00 AM in the Calvary Temple Church with Rev. Bill Morris officiating. Song selection was “I Will Remember You.” Pallbearers were Cory Morris, Phillip Shores, Adam Shores, Bryan Staudt, Chad Morris and Shawn Morris. Honorary pallbearers were Mathew Staudt and Casey Morris. Burial was in the Hillcrest Cemetery under the direction of the Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home, Mtn. Grove, MO.

Saturday, September 13, 2008 at 10 a.m. in the Calvary Temple Church of Mtn. Grove, MO.
Visitation:
Friday, September 12, 2008 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
