Shirley Ann Cozort

Shirley Ann (Hosbein) Cozort, of Mountain Grove, Missouri, departed this life February 7, 2021, at the age of 85 years, 1 month, and 7 days. Shirley was born December 31, 1935 in St. Joseph, Michigan, to Earl and Cordelia (Wetmore) Hosbein. She was one of six children. She had two brothers and one sister who lived to adulthood, and two siblings that passed away very young.

She married Russell Borden Cozort on July 2, 1954, in Benton Harbor, Michigan. To this union were born four children, Keith, Kathryn, Kevin, and Kimberly. They also fostered Hope King for a time.

Shirley was a full-time homemaker for many years. In addition, she worked as a teacher’s aid at Pine Trails Elementary School in Allegan, Michigan, for a couple of years. In her later years, she worked at and retired from Publix Supermarkets in Gainesville, Florida.

She was baptized as a teenager into the Church of Christ and remained an active member all her life.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 ½ years, Russell, her parents, and all of her siblings.

She is survived by her sons: Keith (Cheryl) Cozort of Mountain Grove; Kevin Cozort of Mountain Grove; her daughters: Kathryn (Jim) Holway of Miami, Florida; Kimberly Jackson of Cordova, Tennessee; son-in-law, Bobby Jackson of Bartlett, Tennessee; nine grandchildren: Adam (Shea) Cozort, Nathan (Ashley) Cozort, Aaron (Edy) Cozort, Kristi (Blake) Bond, Sarah (Bryan) Kelly, Jeremy Holway, Blair (Jim) Thomas, Brooke (William) Clay, Brett (Allan) Sisson, twenty-two great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins who will miss her.
