Shirley Belle Poston

March 22, 1935 — July 2, 2022

Shirley Belle Poston, daughter of Flemon Harding and Elsie Manes Harding, was born March 22, 1935, in Seymour, Missouri, and departed this life July 2, 2022, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of 87 years, 3 months, and 10 days.

She married Kenneth Eugene Poston, a Korean War veteran, and to this union two sons were born. Kenneth preceded her in death on January 15, 1977. She was also preceded in death by a son, Steven Eugene Poston, sister, Sue Crandall, and a brother, Jimmy Harding.

Shirley is survived by a son, James Kenneth Poston and wife, Karen, of Springfield, Missouri, brother, Gerald Harding and wife, Diane, of Springfield, Missouri, five grandchildren, Nikki Irwin, Bailey McCormick, Madison Poston, Reichea Newton, and Brandi Poston.

In her spare time, she did a lot of traveling in and out of the country. For the last two years of her life, she lived at Wilson’s Creek Nursing and Rehab in Springfield.

Shirley was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. We have many fond memories that we will always cherish.

Memorial Service for Shirley Poston will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home-Seymour at 11:00 A.M. She will be laid to rest next to her husband, Kenneth, son, Steven, and parents, in Goss Cemetery, near Seymour.
