Shirley Odette Yarger

October 13, 1941 — May 18, 2022

Shirley Odette (Wiley) Yarger, daughter of the late Edward and Emma (Zatopek) Wiley, was born October 13, 1941, in Lynch, Nebraska, and passed away May 18, 2022, at her residence in Seymour, Missouri. She was 80 years, 7 months, and 5 days of age.

Shirley attended school in Seymour and graduated from Seymour High School in 1960. She was united in marriage to Edgar Yarger on June 7, 1963. Two children, Ross and Leah, were born to this union. They had been married 37 years before Edgar’s passing on June 19, 2000.

Shirley worked for H.D. Lee Company for 30 years before the plant closed. She then went to work as a cook for Seymour High School for 12 years.

Shirley gave her life to the Lord in 1994 and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. She loved serving in the church.

Her greatest joy were her grandkids and great grandkids. She loved going to all their activities. They all loved her and knew when “Gran” would put chocolate candy bars in their cards.

She loved to garden and mow her yard. She also loved playing indoor board games and cards. Shirley was a traveler and loved to group travel to Alaska and Hawaii.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Larry Wiley.

Shirley is survived by her son, Ross Yarger and his wife, Teresa, of Seymour, Missouri, her daughter, Leah Stacey and her husband, Kevin, of Elkland, Missouri, three brothers, Wayne Wiley and his wife, Ann, of Broken Bow, Nebraska, Don Wiley of Merriman, Nebraska, and Dennis Wiley of Palm Bay, Florida, three sisters, Ramona Palmer of Diggins, Missouri, Joyce Longenecker and Lola Teadtke, both of Spencer, Nebraska, five grandchildren, Ashley Kelley and her husband, Brandon, Brittany Bennett and her husband, Grady, Jorden Stacey, Kamron Stacey, and Kyle Stacey, six great-grandchildren, Addie and Ava Kelley, Weston, Emma, Corbyn, and Greycen Bennett, three sisters-in-law, Carrie Glenn and her significant other, Mike Witt, of Niangua, Missouri, Brenda Replogle of Marshfield, Missouri, and Sandie Yarger of Seymour, Missouri, one brother-in-law, Wendell Yarger and his wife, Dorna, of Mountain Grove, Missouri, and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends who will miss her very much.
