Susan Joan Mclean

Susan Joan McLean, daughter of Herman Bruce and Joan Lee (Anderson) Collier, was born on August 9, 1955 in Houston, Texas and departed this life suddenly on October 10, 2007 at her residence south of Mountain Grove, Missouri in Douglas County. She was 52 years, 2 months, and 1 day of age.
Susan grew up in Marble Falls, Texas and graduated from Marble Falls High School in 1974. She was united in marriage to John McLean on February 2, 1974 in Marble Falls, Texas. She and John raised two sons together. They made their home in La Mesa, Texas for several years where she volunteered at the Medical Arts Hospital. They moved to a farm south of Mountain Grove, Missouri in December of 1996. Susan loved her life on the farm and was known for her ability to raise calves. She was a wonderful and caring wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, friend, and neighbor. She was always willing to help those who had a need and was always there to lend a helping hand. She was preceded in death by her father: Herman Collier.
She is survived by her loving husband: John McLean of their home; her sons: Michael McLean of Mountain Grove and Justin McLean of Odessa, Texas; her mother: Joan Collier of Marble Falls, Texas; four brothers: Jimmy Collier of Austin, Texas, Tommy Collier of Sherwood Shores, Texas, Gerry Collier of Waco, Texas and Mark Collier of the State of Connecticut; three sisters: Arlene Blando of Austin, Texas, Cindy Collier and Cathy Shaver, both of Marble Falls, Texas; several nieces; nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.

Funeral services for Susan McLean were held Monday, October 15, 10:00 AM in the Craig-Hurtt Chapel with Rev. Gene Edwards officiating. Song selections were “Angels,” “I Saw The Light,” and “I will Remember You.” Pallbearers were Dave Cochran, Calvin Coble, Jerry McCullough, Jason Plummer, Mick Plummer, and Jeff Dixon. Honorary pallbearers were Danny Martin and John Plummer. Burial was in the Clifty Hall Cemetery under the direction of the Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home, Mtn. Grove, Missouri.
