Terry Ray Mitchell

February 3, 1951 — May 5, 2008

Terry Ray Mitchell, son of the late Carlos and Dorothy (Lucas) Mitchell, was born on February 3, 1951 in Wright County, Missouri, and departed this life on Monday, May 5, 2008 at his brother’s residence in Norwood, Missouri, following an extended illness. He was 57 years, 3 months, and 4 days of age.
Terry grew up in Wright County and attended the Morning Sun School and later the State School #30. He worked at Unique Services Sheltered Workshop in Mtn. Grove, Missouri for fifteen years.
He enjoyed being outdoors, especially when fishing, hunting, taking walks and picking up aluminum cans.
During the time he was living in Mtn. Grove, he attended the First Baptist Church. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers: Johnnie, Freddie, Roy, Gaylord, and Gary Mitchell.
He is survived by three brothers: Darrell Mitchell and his wife, Nadine, of Blue Springs, Missouri, Robert Mitchell and his wife, Sonja, of Norwood, Missouri, and Glen Mitchell of Mansfield, Missouri; three sisters: Barbara Burdick and her husband, Roy, of Hartville, Missouri, Mary Charpentier of Mtn. Grove, Missouri and Jackie Mitchell of Norwood, Missouri; several nieces; nephews; great-nieces; great-nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.
Graveside services for Terry Mitchell were held Friday, May 9, 2008, 2:00 PM in the Hillcrest Cemetery with Rev. Roger Flint officiating. Song selections were “Go Rest High On That Mountain,” and “When I Get Where I’m Going.” Burial was in the Hillcrest Cemetery under the direction of the Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home, Mtn. Grove, Missouri.

Friday, May 9,2008 2:00 P.M. in the Hillcrest, Cemetery, Mtn. Grove, Missouri.
No Formal Visitation:
Ready for viewing, Thursday, May 8, 10:00 AM in the funeral home.
