Thelma Mallernee

Mrs. Thelma Oleva Mallernee, daughter of the late John and Rosa (Woods) Goodman, was born on September 3, 1923 and passed away on October 21, 2009 at her residence south of Norwood, Missouri. She was 86 years, 1 month, and 18 days of age.
Thelma was reared and attended school in Norwood. On July 1, 1941, she was united in marriage to Roy Mallernee at Oak Forest. To this union were born four children. They made their home on a farm outside of Norwood. Thelma was employed for a period of time at Richards Brothers in Mountain Grove, Missouri. The majority of her time was spent as a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking and watching the St. Louis Cardinals on television. Thelma loved her Lord and Savior and attended church at the Skyline Full Gospel Church.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one son: Dale Mallernee, of Norwood, Missouri; one daughter: Judy Sparks, of New Bloomfield, Missouri; one brother: Chalmer; and five sisters: Blanche, Violet, Beulah, Zel, and Fern.
Thelma is survived by her husband, Roy, of the home; one son: Randy Mallernee, and his wife, Linda, of Norwood, Missouri; one daughter: Cathy McGuire, and her husband, Bill, of Houston, Missouri; one daughter-in-law: Sharon Sikes and her husband, Farel, of Norwood, Missouri; eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends who will all sadly miss her.


Funeral Services: Friday, October 23, 2009 at 1:00 PM in the Craig-Hurtt Chapel.
Visitation: Thursday, October 22, 2009 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM in the chapel.
Burial: Denlow Cemetery
