Thelma Stambaugh

August 14, 1923 — April 8, 2016

Thelma Nadean Stambaugh, daughter of the late Guy and Mayme (Blacksher) Halliburton, was born August 14, 1923 in Texas County, Missouri and departed this life April 8, 2016 in the Autumn Oaks Caring Center of Mountain Grove, Missouri. She was 92 years, 7 months, and 24 days of age.
Thelma was the oldest of twelve girls. She was united in marriage by Rev. Ernest Hart to Alvin Glen Stambaugh on December 1, 1940 at the Church of God in Mountain Grove. Five daughters were born to this union. Mr. Stambaugh passed away on February 18, 1990.
Thelma enjoyed sewing and gardening. She also loved to travel and had taken trips to Mexico, Australia, and Hawaii. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who loved her family dearly. Thelma worked for both Tobin-Hamilton Shoe Company and Brown Shoe Company for many years. She also worked for Dr. R.E. Mitchem in Mountain Grove and helped deliver many babies in the area.
Besides her parents and husband, Thelma was preceded in death by two sisters: Naomi Chandler and DeEtt Medders; two sons-in-law: Gary Raney and Edwin Dennis; one great-grandson: Garrett Bolin; and several brothers-in-law.
Thelma is survived by five daughters: Earlene Dennis of Norwood, Bonita Barnett and husband, Jack, of Norwood, Marie Graves and husband, Bill, of Springfield, Missouri, Marilyn Boldt and husband, Darwin, of Centennial, Colorado, and Gail Springer of Tallahassee, Florida; nine grandchildren: Pamela Cook, Patricia Finch and husband, Donald, Aleth Rogers and husband, Joe, all of Norwood, Lynn Long and wife, Shelia, of Mountain Grove, Vicki Johnson and husband, Greg, of West Plains, Missouri, Greg Raney and wife, Debbie, of Springfield, Ohio, Tina Bolin and husband, Grady, of Mountain Grove, Jason Boldt and wife, Laura, of Aurora, Colorado, and Jarod Boldt and wife, Jessica, of Los Angeles, California; twenty great-grandchildren: Donavan Finch and wife, Josey, Danyiel Pridemore and husband, Anthony, W.J. Rogers, Mikayla Rogers, Chad Johnson and wife, Kamron, Shaina Fare and husband, Robby, Kenna Boldt, Aidan Boldt, Asha Boldt, Julia Boldt, Josiah Boldt, Johanna Boldt, Jeddidiah Boldt, Dylan Raney and wife, Treasure, Carly Raney, Gavin Bolin, Kelsey Long, Jamie Cook, Allan Cook, and Austin Deveaux; eight great-great-grandchildren: Faith Fare, Braylin Fare, Addison Fare, MacieMae Pridemore, McCoy Pridemore, Mavric Pridemore, Lilly Finch and Cody Finch; one step-granddaughter: Jacklyn Shaffer; several step-great-grandchildren; nine sisters: Estia Arnold, Marcella Smith, Ruth Carter and husband, Walton, Willetta Neher, Alean Manasco, Lenora Fergeson, Elsie Keyes, Mary Ann Coats and husband, Kenneth, Katherine Ripka; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends who will greatly miss her.
The Stambaugh family would like to thank the caregivers with Hospice Compassus and Autumn Oaks Caring Center for their care and compassion.


Visitation: Friday, April 15, 2016 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM in the Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home.

Funeral Service: Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home.

Burial: Stubbs Cemetery, Mountain Grove, Missouri
