Tommy Louis Stinson

April 29, 1962 — May 17, 2022

Tommy Louis Stinson, 60, of Fordland, Missouri, a beloved partner, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, began his new adventure beyond the veil on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.

Tom was born April 29, 1962, to the late Francis R. Stinson and Bessie I. (Baughman) Florea. Tom grew up in Mount Sterling, Illinois. Tom at a young age found a love for cars. Early on, he started building model cars which lead to his lifelong passion of building and restoring his own fleet of unique cars! He loved watching shows about building and restoring hot rods which helped him become even more skilled in his passion.

Tom was the life of every party and could light up a room with his humor, smile, and love for life. Tom also loved making memories and spending time with his large family that he was very passionate about.

He grew up working with his cousins, Bill, Mike, Larry, and Wayne at Tate Cheese Factory and at a bomb plant with his mom. These jobs helped him build many skills in the work force that eventually lead him to driving long haul where he found his true passion! Tom loved truck driving and took pride in his work. At the time of his retirement, he was working for Buddy’s Trucking and had been in the industry 25 years.

Tom is survived by his longtime companion, Julia Dawson, of Fordland Missouri; son, Thomas Gifford (Marcye) of Rigby Idaho; stepson, Jeff Gifford, of Idaho Falls, Idaho; step daughters, Jesseca Bryant of Buffalo, Missouri, Jenifer Bryant of Fordland, Missouri, Michelle Cramer (Nathan) of Rogersville, Missouri, and Marlana Bryant of Springfield, Missouri; brother, Terry Stinson of Clarksburg, West Virginia; sisters, Carol Adams of Clarksburg, West Virginia, and Connie Games (Joe) of Casa Grande, Arizona; four grandchildren, thirty-two step-grandchildren, six step-great-grandchildren and two more on the way, several nieces and nephews and tons of other family and friends that love him and will miss him forever.
