Trilba B. (Smith) Wheat

August 27, 1921 — June 27, 2011

Trilba B. (Smith) Wheat, daughter of the late Thomas and Winnie (Freeman) Smith, was born on August 27, 1921 in a cabin in Douglas County, Missouri and departed this life on June 27, 2011 in Willow Care Nursing Center in Willow Springs, Missouri. She was 89 years, and 10 months of age.
Trilba grew up and attended school in Douglas County. She was the youngest of ten children born to Thomas and Winnie. She was saved and baptized at a young age and loved the Lord.
Trilba was united in marriage to Roy H. Wheat on July 12, 1941 in Mountain Home, Arkansas. One son, Jerrel was born to this union. She and Roy enjoyed almost sixty-four years of marriage before his death on June 29, 2005.
Trilba was a dedicated wife, mother and grandma. She enjoyed holidays and times when all of her family were together. Trilba was a hard worker. She enjoyed tending to her flower and vegetables gardens. She also liked to read and loved to listen to gospel music.
Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers: John Smith, Edward Smith, Drew Smith, Orvel Smith, and Harvey Smith; and by four sisters: Edith Leturno, Melissa Turnbull, Edna Hines, and Mae Wake.
She is survived by her son: Jerrel Wheat and his wife, Lula, of Vanzant, Missouri; two granddaughters: Glenda Mings and her husband, Richard, and Lora Hutsell and her husband, Donald, all of Vanzant, Missouri; one grandson: Tyler Wheat of Vanzant, Missouri; five great-grandchildren: Amber Luna and her husband, Jason, of Vanzant, Missouri, Jessica Floyd of Vandalia, Missouri, Christopher Goodman and his wife, Eileen, of Kansas City, Missouri, BJ Hutsell and Cole Hutsell, both of Vanzant, Missouri; two great-great-granddaughters: Faith Ann Floyd and Makenzie Goodman; and other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.
