Wayne “Chet” Long

Wayne Chester “Chet” Long, son of the late William Kay and Lola May (Brown) Rhodes and Samale Long, was born March 4, 1950, in Mountain Grove, Missouri, and departed this life on June 22, 2022 at Autumn Oaks Caring Center, Mountain Grove, Missouri. He was 72 years, 3 months, and 18 days of age.

Wayne “Chet” worked for Fordick Company in Mountain Grove for many years. He enjoyed working there, where he met many friends. At a young age he taught himself to play guitar and enjoyed it greatly. He enjoyed working on vehicles, lawn mowers and anything with a motor in it. He was always able to fix anything that was broken. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and just being outdoors. He loved to watch old westerns. He was always willing to help anyone that he could. He will be missed by many.

Besides his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by one sister, Susan Daugard, and one granddaughter, Wendilyn Harper.

Wayne is survived by three daughters, Wendy Sue Harper of Rigby, Idaho, Stacy May Harper of Gooding, Idaho, and Jennifer Rose Long Strout of Twin Falls, Idaho, six grandchildren, Katerina, Austin, Martijean, Dominique, Ethan and Samantha, five great-grandchildren, one brother, Dale Rhodes of Cabool, Missouri, six sisters, Rosetta and Eugene Sontheimer of Mountain Grove, Esther Rhodes of Cabool, Nancy and Chester Walker of Mountain Grove, Carla and Ed Farley of Cabool, Lola and Brian Ray of Cabool, and Nola and Bruce Jones of Mountain Grove, and many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
