Wilma Jean (Snavely) Easter

August 2, 1926 — May 29, 2013

Wilma Jean Snavely, was born on October 2, 1926 in Kansas City, MO to Joe A. and Emily (Stucki) Snavely. She departed this life on May 29, 2013 in the Autumn Oaks Caring Center in Mtn. Grove, MO, at 86 years of age.
Wilma grew up in Norwood and graduated from Norwood High School in 1944 as the Salutatorian of her class.
Wilma married John Wimberley on January 21, 1946. She worked at various jobs while John served in the United States Navy. They lived in California and the Great Lakes area. When John retired from the Navy, they moved back to Norwood. Wilma worked at Barker Phillips Jackson Insurance Company and the Security Bank. John passed away on May 29, 1979. They were married for thirty-three years.
She was a devoted Christian and taught Sunday School at the Norwood Assembly of God Church and attended the First Christian Church in Mtn. Grove.
Wilma married Reed Easter on November 8, 1980. They lived in Iberia for a while, before moving to Lebanon. Reed passed away in November of 2001. They were married twenty-one years. Wilma moved to Mtn. Grove in 2006 and entered Autumn Oaks in 2012.
Besides her parents and her husbands, Wilma was preceded in death by one sister: Helen Elizabeth Snavely; and by two brothers: Rev. Joe D. Snavely, and Rev. John W. Snavely.
Wilma is survived by two brothers: James Lee Snavely and his wife, Helen, and Jerry Eugene Snavely and his wife, Judy, all of Springfield; five sisters: Delta Rose Forrest and Donna Elaine Bennett, both of Norwood, Alice Marie Kingsland and her husband, Harold, Ilena May Willhite and her husband, Leo, all of Mtn. Grove, and Brenda Sue McGrotha and her husband, Pat, of Fortson, Georgia; her step-children: Michael Easter and his wife, Debi, of Holts Summit, Berdella Platz of Eugene, Marcella Becker and her husband, Don, Patrice Ruckman and her husband, George, all of Crocker; many nieces and nephews; her step-grandchildren and many friends who loved her and will miss her.
