Wilma Sue Wright

June 20, 1947 — November 17, 2008

Wilma “Sue” Wright, daughter of the late Wilbert T. and June (Willard) Dake, was born on June 20, 1947 in Norwood, Missouri and departed this life on November 17, 2008 in the St. John’s Regional Health Care Center in Springfield, Missouri, following a short illness. She was 61 years, 4 months and 27 days of age.
Sue attended school in Norwood and Mansfield and graduated from Mansfield High School. She was united in marriage to Don Wright on September 26, 1970 in Springtown, Arkansas. One son was born to this union. They had made their home south of Norwood on PP Highway for twenty-five years where she enjoyed time with her horse and dogs.
At the time of her passing, she was employed by the Glenwood Health Care in Seymour, Missouri, where she made many friends and will be truly missed.
Sue’s favorite passion in life was writing poems. She enjoyed writing a poem for family members and friends that have passed away. When her son was younger, she served as a Cub Scout leader.
Sue was saved at a young age and was a longtime member of the Corinth Baptist Church in Macomb, Missouri. She enjoyed reading her Bible and serving in the church wherever needed. She loved children very much and liked being a Sunday School teacher and activity director. She would prepare for every holiday and program and had recently written a Christmas program for the church to be used this year. She was a true and faithful worker in the church and will be missed very much in the future but never forgotten.
Sue was a loving and kind wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She loved her family very much and looked forward to every minute she spent with her little grandson, Michael, age five.
She is survived by her loving husband of thirty-eight years: Don Wright of their home; her son: Chris Wright and his girlfriend, Chastity, of Norwood, Missouri; three grandchildren: Michael Wright, Bella Squibb and Colton Worley; one brother: Terry Dake of Mtn. Grove, Missouri; two nieces: Jamie and Jessie Dake; and many other relatives, friends and church family.
