Aleta Kaye (Mayfield) Pamperien, daughter of the late Don and May Adele (Lawson) Mayfield, was born January 20, 1954, in Mountain Grove, Missouri. She left her earthly home in Mountain Grove peacefully and went to her heavenly home to meet her Lord and Savior on February 2, 2026.
Aleta grew up and lived her entire life in the Mountain Grove area. In 1972, Aleta graduated from Mountain Grove High School. During that time, she was employed at SMS Fruit Station in Mountain Grove and later at Brown Shoe Company in Mountain Grove and Houston. On February 27, 1981, Aleta was united in marriage to Randy Pamperien. They would have soon celebrated 45 years of marriage. Two daughters were born to this union, Ashley and Kayla. Once Aleta became a mother, she became self-employed doing childcare and house cleaning so that she could always be present and involved in her daughters’ school activities.
Aleta’s entire life was devoted to her family, friends, and church. When she was younger, Aleta enjoyed playing softball and was known for her “arm”. She also enjoyed taking her nephews, Jamie, Marty, and Wes on fun outings. As she grew older, Aleta was always present in her daughters’ lives and later, in her grandchildren’s lives. Aleta enjoyed supporting her grandchildren at their various sporting events and activities. There was nothing her grandchildren loved more than getting to spend one-on-one time with their Memaw. She would take them shopping, to Branson, or even on vacations to New York City and Washington D.C. Memaw’s Sunday dinners were also always requested and will be missed.
Aleta loved to travel but was afraid to fly. She preferred to “sight see” and drive to her destinations. She looked forward to her annual trips with her best friends. Aleta loved the beach, but also enjoyed spending her summers at the lake, surrounded by her family. As often as possible, Aleta loved getting together with her friends from High School and the “Dawson Girls”.
Aleta was saved and baptized in May 1971. She attended and was a member of Mansfield First Assembly of God church for many years. She was a woman of unwavering faith who quietly and faithfully served the Lord. Never seeking recognition, she worked behind the scenes, always willing to help wherever needed. She served many years, organizing meals for those in need at church or planning funeral dinners. She loved her church family, church dinners, and being involved in women’s ministry. She was a woman rooted deeply in the Word of God, a devoted prayer warrior, faithfully lifting her family, church, and others before the Lord. Even though this last year of her life was filled with trials and physical weakness, her spirit remained strong. She never ceased praying for others, trusting the Lord in all things.
2 Timothy 4:7 (NIV) - I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
Besides her parents and in-laws, she was preceded in death by one brother-in-law, Lynn Day, and many other family members whom she loved dearly.
She is survived by her loving husband, Randy of their home, two daughters, Ashley Garner and her husband, Randy, and Kayla Johnson and her husband, Kody, all of Mountain Grove, Missouri, two sisters, Donna Davis and her husband, Vince of Cabool, Missouri, and Vonna Day of Mountain Grove, eight grandchildren, Audrey, Taylor, Bella, Kolton, Kason, Brody, Kalli, and Kamden, other relatives, church family and friends who will miss her very much.
