Alma F. Norris

April 5, 1921 — February 13, 2011

Alma F. Norris, daughter of the late Charles and Della (Brooks) Hicks, was born on April 5, 1921 in Tarkio, Missouri, and departed this life on February 13, 2011 in the Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, Missouri, at 89 years of age.
Alma grew up and attended school in the Mtn. Grove area. She was united in marriage to Charles Glenn Norris on January 1, 1937. Two children were born to this union. They made their home in the Mtn. Grove Community. Mr. Norris passed away on January 10, 1992.
Alma was a true homemaker who enjoyed taking care of her family. She was an excellent seamstress and cook. She was known for making wonderful cinnamon rolls to share with those around her. She also liked to quilt and loved taking care of her gardens each year.
Alma was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Mtn. Grove. She enjoyed attending services with her friends as long as her health permitted.
Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother: Homer Hicks; and by two great-grandchildren: Josh Bradshaw and Kristy Bradshaw.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Charles and Cheryl Norris of Mtn. Grove; her daughter and son-in-law: Glenda and Bill Fanning of Ava, Missouri; one brother: Charles Hicks of Macomb, Missouri; one sister: Agnes Hines of Elk Creek, Missouri; eight grandchildren: Lianne Bradshaw, Rebecca Lumley, Billy Fanning, Michael Fanning, Nena Kopecek, Charles G. Norris, Jeannine Lovett and Leah Pogue; several great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.
