With deep gratitude for her life, we announce the passing of Angelia Ruth Thornhill-Brummet, who went home to the Lord on May 25, 2025, surrounded by loved ones, after a courageous battle with illness. She was 69 years old.
Angelia was born in Cabool, Missouri, to Ray and Madalene Tool. She lived in the Mountain Grove, Missouri, area for much of her life. Her early years were spent on her parents’ farm and she later graduated from Mountain Grove High School. She went on to marry, have three sons, and work on the family dairy farm and factories, and, eventually, a plant in McAlister, Oklahoma, where she moved with her husband, Jerry Brummet, and their grandson, Nickolas, in 2011. They moved to Springfield, Missouri, in 2019 following Angelia’s health complications.
Angelia was a strong woman in every sense of the word. Through life’s challenges she stood firm with resilience and meekness. She worked hard throughout her life, not for her own gain, but to ensure her loved ones never lacked.
Her greatest joy was her family. A devoted wife, daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother, she poured her heart into caring for others. She especially delighted in spoiling her grandchildren, creating memories full of warmth, joy, and a few extra sweets when parents weren’t looking. Her home was a true haven – always cozy, always welcoming, and always filled with the aroma of something delicious cooking in the kitchen.
Angelia was a member of the Church of Christ, having been baptized into Christ as a teenager. She led with quiet wisdom and compassion. We take comfort in knowing that she is now at peace, held in the arms of her Savior.
Besides her parents, Angelia was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Ryan Thornhill; and an infant son.
Angelia is survived by her husband, Jerry Brummet; her son, Jeremy Scott Thornhill and wife, Mirela; three step-daughters, Stacy Hylton, Kerri Rodgers; and Amy Berry; her brother, Allen Tool and wife, Sherry; two aunts, Maxine Lakey and Mildred Tool; one nephew, Nathan Tool; one niece, Katie Wasson; three grandchildren, Macie Bequette, Kile Thornhill, and Nickolas Thornhill; five step-grandchildren, Zoey Criner, Brody Hylton, Elley Criner, Charlee Hylton, and Owen Berry; one great-grandson, Davy Bequette; and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
