Aniece Ann Hemminger

April 22, 1949 — February 18, 2022

Aniece Ann (Matney) Hemminger, daughter of William and Gladys (Hargis) Matney, was born April 22, 1949, in Seymour, Missouri, and departed this life February 18, 2022, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of seventy-two years, nine months, and sixteen days.

She married Paul Nichols, and to this union two sons, Chad and Craig were born.

Aniece later married Irvin Benton and to this union two daughters, Tamara, Jennifer and one son, Terry were born.

On July 8, 1983, she was united in marriage to Russell Hemminger in Lebanon, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Craig Emmerson, daughter, Tamara Lee Benton, five brothers, Earnest, Willard, Wayne, Lester, and Jackie, five sisters, Oleva, Wilma, Wanda, Darlene, and Vivian, several nieces, and nephews.

Aniece is survived by her husband of almost 39 years, Russell, of the home; daughter, Jennifer Ryan and husband, Eddie; son, Terry Benton and wife, Kendra, Chad Emmerson; stepchildren, Scott, Shannon, Shelly, and Stacey; five grandchildren, sister, Oleta Codding, of Seymour, Missouri; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was born in Seymour and attended Seymour Schools. She was a homemaker and had worked at HD Lee Company in Seymour for several years.

In her spare time, Aniece loved to fish, sewing, making quilts, arts and crafts and simple country life.

Aniece will be missed by her family and friends, and we will always remember the special times we had together.
