Anna Wells

October 29, 1943 — May 1, 2024

Mountain Grove

Anna Wells passed away on May 1, 2024. She was born on October 29, 1943, in Cord, Arkansas to William and Nellie Clark.  Anna was 80 years, 6 months and 3 days of age.

Anna married the love of her life and her best friend, Billy Ray Wells, on June 26, 1961. Five daughters were born of this union and the memories created and the loving home Anna created for her family will always be remembered. Anna dedicated a significant portion of her life to working as a cook at The Triangle restaurant in Mountain Grove, where she delighted many with her delectable meals.

Anna was also a passionate collector with a love for attending auctions. Her collection varied from rocks, to Avon bottles, to various other treasures she found along the way. Her mischievous and fun-loving spirit shone through in her love for playing jokes on those around her; from putting firecrackers in pockets to placing rubber snakes in the dishwater of grandma's sink. She sure knew how to create lasting memories that everyone can still remember.

Anna loved to go fishing. If the sun was up and she could go, then it was a great day to go fishing. She found joy in spending time outdoors and cherished moments with family and friends. Anna truly loved her family and especially had a deep love for her grandkids. Despite sometimes appearing bossy to her siblings, since she was the oldest, she was fiercely proud of their accomplishments and valued their time together. She was also very giving in that she would do anything she could to help people out.

Anna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Billy Ray Wells, two brothers, Marlene and Bill Clark, and a sister, Ella Finley.

Anna is survived by her five daughters, Darlane Wells (Colie) of Branson, Missouri; Mary Smith (Erwin) of Springfield, Missouri, Tracy Sutton of Rolla, Missouri, Pamela Hurley and Paula Wells both of Mountain Grove, Missouri. Additionally, she is survived by her brother, Jimmie Clark (Shirley) of Alexander, Arkansas, six grandchildren, Erica Jones, David-Michael Smith, Tony Smith, Matthew Hurley, Emily Hurley, and Kit Puello, as well as two great-great-grandchildren, Bailey and Brenna Jones.

Anna Wells will always be remembered for her culinary talents, adventurous spirit, love for family and friends, and the lasting memories she created with those around her.
