Barbara Adams

Barbara Jo Adams, daughter of Raymond Reed and Bonnie (Lawson) Freels, was born January 23, 1957, in Springfield, Missouri, and passed from this life on May 26, 2022, at her home in Mountain Grove, Missouri. She was 65 years, 4 months, and 3 days of age.

Barbara grew up in the Dawson Community, and attended her early school years at Morning Sun school. She graduated from Mountain Grove High School in the class of 1975. She married David Adams on January 24, 1975, at Alton, Missouri. Three children were born to this union. She accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age and attended Norwood Assembly of God for many years.

Barbara loved to have her family around her, especially when her grandchildren were there. She was an excellent cook and had a large collection of recipes. She cooked at the Senior Center in Mountain Grove for ten years until she retired.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Adams; one infant son, Jeremy Adams; a brother-in-law, Junior Boykin; and by her mother, Bonnie Lu Freels.

She is survived by her father, Raymond Reed Freels of Mountain Grove; one son, Jeff Adams and his fiancé, Phoebe Gutierrez, of Oskaloosa, Iowa; her daughter, Amanda Dale and her husband, Adam; two sisters, Celah Boykin and Linda Loughridge and her husband, Dale, all of Mountain Grove, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Alison, Alissa, Haley, Austin, Brady, Ashton, and Dani; other relatives and many friends who will miss her very much.
