Billy Joe Stogsdill

Billy Joe Stogsdill, son of Walter and Neva (Marley) Stogsdill, was born September 24, 1931, in Mansfield, Missouri and departed this life May 21, 2022, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri, at the age of 90 years, 7 months, and 27 days. 

He was raised in Mansfield and graduated from Mansfield High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and was stationed in Cheyenne, Wyoming. While serving in the Air Force he married Wanda Lee Funk and had 2 children, Kent, and Diana. After completing his enlistment, he enrolled in college at Southwest Missouri State in Springfield, Missouri, where he graduated with an accounting degree.

Billy Joe worked for several major corporations over the years, General Dynamics, The Associates, and IBM as senior vice president in computer data services.

After retiring, Billy Joe and Wanda traveled overseas and all around the United States.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Neva, and a brother Roger Lee.

Billy Joe is survived by his wife of 70 years, Wanda Lee; son, Kent (Claudia); daughter, Diana Van Horn; and grandchildren, Erica Thole and April Van Horn.
