Burnham “Burnie” Patrick Gibbons, son of the late Burnham and Judith (Joyce) Gibbons, born February 24, 1960, in Kansas City, Missouri, departed this life on August 31, 2025, at Rocky Ridge Manor in Mansfield, Missouri, at the age of 65 years, 6 months, and 7 days.
Burnie grew up in Prairie Village, Kansas, and graduated from Shawnee Mission East High School with the class of 1977. After high school, he traveled throughout several states working various jobs. Burnie served in the United States Air Force for a brief time until he was discharged due to health concerns. Burnie was a jack of all trades working various jobs including: making donuts, lawn care and even tile work. It was when he began to work for Jones Tile that he discovered his true passion and calling. He happily retired from Jones Tile.
In his spare time, Burnie loved to play guitar and watch the Kansas City Royals and Chiefs. He also loved to read, especially detective fiction books.
Burnie was preceded in death by his parents, Burnham and Judith Gibbons.
He is survived by his sister, Laura Roush and her husband, Erik, of Kansas City, Missouri, his brother, Henry Gibbons also of Kansas City, Missouri, and his nieces and nephews, Michelle, Patricia, and Thomas.
Burnie was a special man and if you ever had the chance to meet him you will likely never forget him. He was a loving brother, uncle and friend. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
