Charles "Charlie" Easley

September 4, 1958 — December 8, 2025

Mansfield, Missouri

Charles “Charlie” Dean Easley, son of Harold Easley and the late Ilene (Letterman) Easley, was born on September 4, 1958, in Mansfield, Missouri, and departed this life on December 8, 2025, in Mansfield, Missouri, at the age of 67 years and 3 months.

Charles began his early years in Mansfield before moving to Fordland around the time he entered the 1st grade. He grew up on the family farm with his siblings riding horses and scrapping parts from old bicycles to build new ones to ride. In the late 80’s, he returned to Mansfield, where he raised his family and resided until his passing.

In 1993, while at the local bar in Mansfield, he met the love of his life, Cathy Barber. They spent many nights hanging out, playing pool at the bar. Then on April 7, 1995, they were united in Marriage. To this union, one child was born, and two bonus children were gained. When asked, it was made clear that these bonus children were not just step kids; they were his own.

Charles worked at various places throughout his life, including Mansfield Building Supply, Hutchens Industries steel plant, Arborow as a tree trimmer, and a loader driver at Hanger Sawmill, from which he retired. In his spare time, he loved to fish, camp, and hunt mushrooms, which he usually gave away. He was a very talented artist and could draw, paint, and carve about anything you could imagine. He could draw a beautiful unicorn on a fogged-up glass using both hands at the same time. His talent also included chainsaw carvings, which many of his family and friends still have to this day and will cherish forever.

Charles was preceded in death by his mother, Ilene Easley, and one brother, Tom Easley.

He is survived by his wife, Cathy Easley of the home, two daughters, Fallon Moore and husband, Trenton, of Mansfield, Missouri, Christina Kennedy of Mansfield, Missouri, one son, Gary Slate of Mansfield, Missouri, his father, Harold Easley of Fordland, Missouri, two brothers, Doug Easley and wife, Linda, of Marshfield, Missouri, Jack Easley and wife, Vicki, of Fordland, Missouri, two sisters, Becky Willis and husband, Kevin, of Marshfield, Missouri, Susan Easley and Doug Ellison of Fordland, Missouri, seven grandchildren, Dillon Coffelt and wife, Andrea, Kara Beckerdite, Ian Newby, Emmett Newby, Miah Stark, Carson Moore, and Kaydynn Moore, four great-grandchildren, Ryan, Dane, Paisley, and Colton, and many nieces, nephews, and many friends that he considered family.

Charles loved his family; he was very proud of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and cherished the time spent with them. He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
