Dale Hicks

December 22, 1940 — March 6, 2022

Dale Hicks, son of the late Sophus and Maggie (Crowley) Hicks, was born December 22, 1940, in Gentryville, Missouri, and departed this life March 6, 2022, in Camdenton, Missouri. He was 81 years, 2 months, and 15 days of age.

Dale grew up in the Gentryville community. He was united in marriage to Yvonne Daphine (Dobbins) Hicks on April 6, 1968, in Mountain Grove, Missouri. Four children were born to this union.

Dale enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially when hunting and fishing. He was a truck driver for many years and had logged many miles behind the wheel. He loved spending time with friends and family, especially his children and grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Besides his parents, Dale was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 50 years, Yvonne Hicks, six brothers, Robert "Bob", Sophus, Noble, Edward, Raymond, and Elmer, and seven sisters, Freda, Ida, Pearl, Betty Jean, Betty Lou, Ann, and Dorothy.

Dale is survived by two sons, Terry Ray Hicks and Donna Shelton of Mountain Grove, and Timmy Lee Hicks and wife, Alicia, of Mountain Grove, two daughters, Annette Dalene Sterner and Willie Rickerson of Cabool, Missouri, and Angela Daphine Hicks and husband, Randy, of Mountain Grove, twenty-one grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren, one brother, Lawrence Hicks, numerous other relatives, and many friends.
