Danny Russell

Danny Lee Russell was born on July 28, 1946, at Dora, Missouri, to Claude Raymond Russell and Iva Bell (Freeman) Russell. He passed away at his home in Seymour, Missouri, on April 11, 2026, at the age of 79 years, 8 months, and 16 days.

Danny grew up in Dora, Missouri, and remained there until he enlisted into the Marine Corps. Later, he married the love of his life, Margaret Sue Ince, on July 27, 1968, at Gainesville, Missouri, after returning home from his military service.

Having worked as a log cutter for several years, Danny later worked for Emerson Electric, in Ava, until they closed their doors in the late 80’s. He then went back to cutting logs, and did so for many more years, until he physically couldn’t any longer.

Danny loved to go fishing and hunting. When he hunted, it was mostly for squirrels and rabbits. He was known for having a sweet tooth and often enjoyed a big handful of M&M’s. Watching his westerns on television was one of his favorite past times. But above all else, Danny truly cherished his family. He adored his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

His parents, son Randall Mincks and three sisters, Rosell Lee, Rosemary Russell and May Hines, precede him in death.

Danny is survived by his wife of 57 years, Margaret Sue Russell of Seymour, Missouri, sons James Mincks of Seymour, Missouri, Lee Russell (Trish) of Seymour, Missouri, and Lucas Russell of Seymour, Missouri, brother Dean Russell of Hohenwald, Tennessee, sister Ina Bell Friend (Ed) of Noble, Missouri, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other loving family.

A memorial service for Danny will be scheduled at a later date and time.
