Donald Ray Kelley, son of the late Bill and Dessie (Hurt) Kelley, was born March 29, 1938, in Odin, Missouri, and departed this life April 11, 2025, at Hartville Care Center in Hartville, Missouri, at 87 years of age.
Don was drafted into the United States Army in 1960 and served his country as a medic stationed in Washington state. Don was an extremely hard worker starting from a young age. He worked for many years on telephone lines with LP&H as a superintendent. He also farmed for many years and had a love of farm animals including horses, mules, and hunting dogs.
Later in life, Don enjoyed tinkering with lawn mowers and tractors. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and a big Trump supporter.
Don was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Kelley, one daughter, Shannon Kelley, his parents, Bill and Dessie Kelley, one brother, George Kelley, six sisters, Fern Shaver, Ida Buck, Avis Carriger, Betty Browitt, Dorothy Weaver, and Imogene Lowery.
He is survived by five children, Carla Pearson and husband, Mark, of Seymour, Missouri, Mike Long and wife, Debbie, of Hartville, Missouri, Mark Cooley of Mansfield, Missouri, Terri Calton and husband, Jeff, of Hartville, Missouri, and Donnie Kelley of Mansfield, Missouri, 16 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and many nephews, nieces, and friends who will miss him.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mount Olive Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
