Donald Adamson

Donald Ray Adamson, 88, of Mountain Grove, Missouri, was born on August 16, 1938, to Donald William Adamson and Macie Marie (Weaver) Adamson. He departed this life on September 5, 2026, in Springfield, Missouri, surrounded by the love of his family.

Donnie attended Norwood Schools and graduated from Norwood High School with the Class of 1955. After graduation, Donnie served his country in the United States Navy. His time in the Navy shaped his character, instilling discipline, resilience, and a deep sense of duty that stayed with him throughout his life.

Upon returning home, Donnie began building a life rooted in hard work and dedication. He worked at Producer Creamery, spent time driving a truck, and eventually found his calling in the dairy business. For more than 30 years, he devoted himself to the demanding but rewarding work of dairy farming. After selling his dairy cattle, he continued his commitment to agriculture through a beef operation until his retirement.

Some of Donnie's favorite memories were of him hunting and fishing. He was happiest when surrounded by the quiet beauty of nature. He cherished the outdoors and found peace in its simplicity. Known as a good neighbor and a loyal friend, Donnie was the kind of man who made communities stronger. His kindness, humility, and steady presence touched countless lives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Macie Adamson.

Donnie is survived by his beloved wife, Darlene, of Mountain Grove, Missouri; step-sons, Jeff Whitman of Springfield, Missouri, Kent Whitman (Stacy) of Mountain Grove, and Aaron Whitman of Mountain Grove; Tilly Labadie, whom Donnie thought of as a daughter, of the state of Okkahoma; his siblings, Marlyn Yvonne (Carl) Henslee of Mansfield, Missouri, Kathryn Juanita (Lester) Allen of Grapevine, Texas, Evelyn Marie (Ronnie) Baker of Mansfield, and Keith (Joyce) Adamson of Mansfield; along with a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren who each held a special place in his heart.

If it was worth doing, Donnie did it 110%. His love for others was no exception. Donnie loved fiercely and would do anything for anyone. He will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to share even a small part of life with him —a life well lived and a legacy that will continue to shine.
