Edith Ann McDaniel, daughter of the late Ed and Dorothy Phillips, was born March 25, 1950, in Washington, Missouri. She went to her Heavenly home on July 12, 2026. Edith was 76 years, 3 months, and 18 days of age.
Edith married Gary McDaniel on November 7, 1971. They made their home south of Cabool, Missouri.
Edith went to school and became a beautician, working in Cabool for many years. She then furthered her education, became an LPN, and worked as the school nurse at Cabool Schools. Later, she became an RN and worked for Barnes-Jewish Hospital and as the Director of Nursing at South Central Correctional Center. After retirement, she worked some as a substitute teacher at Mountain Grove and Cabool schools.
In her spare time, Edith loved to fish and hunt. Every spring found her at the river, white bass fishing with her husband, Gary. She could catch white bass and walleye as good as anyone. She not only caught them, but she could fillet a fish with the best of them.
Edith was saved at an early age and was strong in her faith. She had a big heart and would open her doors to anyone. She loved visiting with friends and family on the phone, and her heart was always open to kids. She was a mama bear by nature and would be protective of the little ones in her life.
Besides her parents, Edith was preceded by her daughter, Erin Plummer, and by a grandson, Isaac Plummer.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Gary, her granddaughter, Anna Dodd, and two special friends, Lisa Parle-Booker and Mary Hoots.
