Elaine Giddens

Elaine Dee (Collins) Giddens, age 65, of West Plains, Missouri, passed away on July 11, 2026. She was born on May 17, 1961, in Kansas City, Kansas, to Doyne Collins and Veta (Elliott) Collins–Briscoe.

A woman of strength and a kind heart, Elaine had a gift for cake decorating and floral design. She cherished time with family at Norfork Lake and loved the freedom of riding motorcycles.

She will be remembered for her determination, strong spirit, and unconditional devotion to her family.

Elaine is survived by her two sons, Kalen Carter and Coldin Carter and his wife, Miranda. They were the center of her life, and she took great pride in the men they had become.

She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Cadence Carter, Easton Carter, Ashlyn Carter, Braxtin Wright, and River Wright; her mother, Veta Collins-Briscoe; her sister, Kim Woodworth and her husband, John; her significant other, Rocky Burgess; her nephew, Jake Woodworth and his wife, Jenna; her great-niece, Stella; and many extended family members and dear friends.

Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, Maylon Carter; her son, Wyatt Perkins; her father, Doyne Collins; her brother, Murphy Wayne Collins; and her stepfather, Yovel Briscoe.
