Eldon Davidson

Mountain Grove

Eldon Ray Davidson, son of the late Frank Otto and Inez Ruth (Robertson) Davidson, was born July 20, 1932, in Norwood, Missouri, and departed this life on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at his residence near Mountain Grove, Missouri.  He was 91 years, 5 months, and 20 days of age.

 

Eldon grew up in Mountain Grove and Norwood, Missouri. He graduated from Norwood High School on May 5, 1949. Eldon enlisted in the US Army in 1952 and served from December 1952 to September 1954. He was a Korean War veteran.

 

 He was united in marriage to Verna Rose Nicley on February 21, 1959, in Pendleton, Oregon.  Three children were born to this union; Monty, Carmen and Andre Davidson.

 

They had made their home in Mountain Grove in 1973. Eldon was a man of many trades. He was a carpenter, electrician, plumber and avid gardener. He took great pride in helping others. He was an honorable and humble man. He was a loving and caring father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He never turned down anybody who needed help.

 

Eldon was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Verna; two brothers, Vernon and Delmar; three sisters, Virginia, Vinita and Betty Sue; daughter-in-law, Rebecca (Buckner) Davidson; and one great-grandson, Emmett Jude Medina.

 

He is survived by two sons, Monty Davidson and Andre Davidson and wife, Danielle; one daughter, Carmen Davidson; four granddaughters, Sophia Medina, Natalie Medina, Jessica Davidson and Sarah Whittenberg; three grandsons, Alexander Davidson, John Pennegar and wife,  Abbie, and Michael Whittenberg; four great-grandchildren, Eldon, Aliza, Adora and Michael Jr.; and other relatives and friends. Eldon will truly be missed by many.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to Lone Star Cemetery.
